Oversized WINK! Bear with me: this is a jumbo, single-eye version of the mini, single-eye version of the double-eye piece You Don't Have To Look If You Don't Want To I created in 2023. One eye. Open and closed views. Winks. Get it? ;-)

This big mama eye began as a custom-speckle fused iris with fused pupil and highlight features, fired in my home studio. Eye whites and citronelle green background finish the open eye view of the piece on the inside, while a layered 3D neolavender eyelid and curved wire eyelashes complete the closed eye view on the outside. Finished in brass, the eye panel is paired with a framed mirror to its right, and the panels are connected by a custom tube and rod hinge.

This functional design was built with lead-free solder. Each half measures just over 8" square. The wirework eyelashes on the front of the piece prevents it from laying fully flush on a flat surface-- this piece is intended for upright display on a shelf or vanity. Handle with care to prevent scratching of your surfaces. All connecting framing corners have been sanded to a smooth finish. Mirrored glass has been spray sealed to prevent discoloration, and is backed with black felt for added protection and finish. Completed in Winter 2023.

Glass is a slightly fickle photography subject, so note that colors and textures may appear slightly different in person than they do in the pictures.
